Get Ready, Get Set...

For my family, this week began amid the usual hustle and bustle which accompanies the week before Christmas -- including last-minute shopping and errands. It is concluding at our quiet beachfront retreat at the Jersey Shore.

Lots of people on a Delta flight to Chicago didn't need to be reminded of the importance of friends and family this Christmastime, as they came perilously close to falling victims to the largest terrorist attack on US soil since 9/11. And across the pond in Italy, the Pope was tackled during midnight mass by a nutbag who failed in hurting the Pontiff but succeeded in breaking the leg of a Cardinal. What the hell is wrong with this world?

As I sit fireside with my wife and kids, I am going to enjoy a week of rest. A week of well-needed rest, as there is a lot of justice that needs to be brought to the world in 2010.
